A Lite Recap of Building the La Ribera Volunteer Fire Department

It’s incredible to think that just a few short months ago this began as a simple Go Fund Me page to raise money for La Ribera to have their own fire truck. That is, just a man with a mission to help the community that he has come to call home.

It’s important to remember that the whole idea of a La Ribera Fire Department was born in response to a terrible tragedy that motivated us to do something real that could help prevent similar suffering in these extremely vulnerable communities.

Now we have grown Building the La Ribera Volunteer Fire Department well beyond our original vision. We are a highly cooperative, international movement with amazing support from BCS officials, U.S. fire departments, fire organizations and the generosity, care and creativity of the individual members of our online communities. Referred to collectively as The La Ribera Fire Community.

Here We Stand

We still have a lot of work to do. Creating a fully functional and highly qualified volunteer fire department for La Ribera and surrounding communities.

The community is making great progress with no signs of slowing but we are not done. Not until La Ribera BCS and surrounding towns have access to the fast, expert and dedicated fire rescue that our bomberos voluntarios will provide.

La Ribera Fire Community; Stand and Be Recognized!

As the campaign expands so are the opportunities for contributing to and guiding this effort. This is a community and we are working together to create something very special; everyone will have an opportunity to help shape this project and be recognized for their contributions. We have lots of fun programs that are going to be rolled out in the coming months. So make sure you are subscribed to our monthly newsletter so you don’t miss out!

Ok, 5 Minutes (Finally)

Back to the 5 minutes theme. I would like to share some of the ways in which we can keep up the momentum and see this through.

As I promised in the title, each one of these actions requires 5 minutes or less of your time. Small efforts that directly support the success of the La Ribera Volunteer Fire Department. They are super easy and totally pain-free.

Lastly, don’t forget to let us know about your 5 minutes! You can comment on our social networks or send us an email. Include your name and your 5-minute contribution so that you can be recognized and become eligible for rewards.

I want to end by saying thank you all. I’m honored to be in such fine company. The La Ribera Fire Community continues to inspire hope and demonstrate the transformative power of our community.

Cheers,

Building the La Ribera Fire Department
